Apple Device Management

Enrolling your University owned Apple device comes with many benefits and is essential if you require IT support if you have any issues or problems with your Apple device. The process should take no longer than 5 minutes, and you will have the same functionality and permissions after enrolment as before, plus some additional benefits.

  • Wipe your device if it is lost or stolen
  • Reset forgotten passcode
  • Recover device locked to staff member no longer at the University
  • Manage OS and application updates
  • Manage security updates
  • Access to University of Reading licensed software

If you have a new Apple device you will automatically be guided through the enrolment process when you set up your device.

Q: Will Apple Device Management track my location?

A: No, however it can be used to locate your lost device.

Q: Will Apple Device Management track how I use my device?

A: No , but it can be used to understand what versions of software your device uses.
