Examination and Assessment

Examination questions and answers do not infringe copyright provided that the copyright material in the questions is properly credited. However, no acknowledgement is needed where it would be impossible for reasons of practicality or otherwise. This also applies to all assessed work and students must correctly reference all of their third party material so as to avoid plagiarising.

Musical works have more restrictions. You are not allowed to make a reprographic copy of a musical work for use by an examination candidate in performing the work

Research students who wish to have their theses digitised or disseminated online will need to obtain copyright clearance for all third party material which does not fall under the defence of fair dealing.
