Getting to know Reading
You will know which subject (or programme) you have come to study. You may not know that your subject and programme sits within a School (or Schools if you are undertaking a combined honours programme) and that your School sits within a Faculty.
You will be visiting your School during Freshers' Week and meeting various key members of staff. The links from this page will give you some idea of the campus and facilities available to you.
Getting around campus
The main campus at Reading is the Whiteknights Campus. Buildings on the Whiteknights campus are either on the main Whiteknights area or at Earley Gate. There is another campus at Bulmershe and one at London Road. You will be told where the majority of your lectures and other classes will take place during Freshers' Week.
Getting around Reading by bus
There are various bus routes that lead into and out of the University campuses.
The local bus service in Reading is very good. full details of buses to campus can be found via the link above. You need to have the exact fare ready – at the time of writing this is £1.70 for a single journey – no change will be given.
Bulmershe bus
The number 19 bus links Bulmershe and Whiteknights campus, with a special fare of £1.20.
simplyUni save ticket
You can buy a saver ticket for £99 which will give you unlimited travel on Reading Buses for the whole term (with Freshers' week thrown in for free!)

Car parking information
There are a limited amount of car parking spaces available to students. You should not bring your car to campus until you have made arrangements with the University. Use the links below to find out how to apply for a car parking permit.
