Postgraduate students

Laughing studentWelcome to all postgraduate students.

Whether you are here to study at Certificate, Diploma, Masters or Doctoral level we hope that the information here will help you to settle in to life at the University of Reading.

You may not see yourself as a Fresher but it is still well worth reading through the information on this site as most of it will still be relevant to you. In particular, you should ensure that you enrol and receive your student username and password as soon as possible. When you have made a payment towards your student tuition fees you will be able to collect your Student Access Card. This card gives you access to the Library, IT facilities, Sports facilities, some University buildings and can provide you with exemption from Council Tax if you are living in private accommodation.

Postgraduate Welcome Programme

This programme contains useful information about various sessions and activities that you should attend during your first weeks at Reading.

Your School or Department will have resources available to you. These are complemented by centrally available resources produced by various services across the university.

You should also remember that services and resources for undergraduates are also available to postgraduates.

School/Department welcome

During Freshers' Week you should visit your School/Department responsible for your programme at the time given in the timetable for a welcome event (this can be found in the Welcome Programme that you will have received in the post, and is also linked to above).
