Who to contact
The Student Services Centre in the Carrington Building provides a wealth of information and support for undergraduate students. Information, (including a link to the on-line helpdesk) can be found on the student homepage.
While most queries can be dealt with by the Student Services Centre, students who wish to transfer degree programme or suspend their registration will be advised to discuss their circumstances with their School or Department, and to contact the Sub-Dean, Sally Adams (email s.a.r.adams@reading.ac.uk, tel. 0118 378 8342). Students will be asked to complete a change of status form [PDF 88.5KB], and may be asked to make an appointment with the Student Services Centre or with other support providers within the University.
Students who wish to repeat the year should submit their request under the University's extenuating circumstances procedures. Repeat years are only permitted where a student has experienced significant and long-term extenuating circumstances which have severely affected their ability to study. Students should note that the deadlines for the submission of extenuating circumstances cases are adhered to strictly by the University.
Students who wish to change one or more of their optional modules should discuss this in the first instance with their Personal Tutor, Programme Adviser, or School Office, and then complete a change of module request form [PDF 72.6KB]. Students are not normally permitted to change their optional modules after week 5 of the Autumn Term.
