Diploma supplements
What are Diploma Supplements?
If you registered on a taught programme of studies at the University after autumn 2004 and have since received an award, you should have received a 'Diploma Supplement'. Your Diploma Supplement contains your transcript together with contextual information about your programme and the UK Higher Education system, in a standard format which is shared across the EU.
For Students who graduate in June, the Diploma Supplements are printed and posted to the alumni's home address in October. For students who graduate in December, the Diploma Supplement will be available to collect with your degree certificate at your graduation ceremony, or will otherwise be posted to the alumni's home address in January.
Ordering duplicate Diploma Supplements
If you require a duplicate copy of your Diploma Supplement, there is a fee of £10 per copy and you may order up to a maximum of five copies.
If you would like an extra copy or a replacement of your Diploma Supplement, please email examinations@reading.ac.uk with your request and we will send you an order form.
For information about ordering a replacement degree certificate, please follow this link to the Graduation Office website.
Higher degrees by research
If you obtained a degree from the University of Reading which did not include taught elements, diploma supplements are not applicable to you.
Instead, statements confirming the award of the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy by Thesis, and LLM by Thesis can be obtained from Jane Jeffries in the Examinations Office after your award has been ratified by the Senate. This is normal practice in most UK universties.
