- Responsibilities:
My main responsibility is to lead the strategic development of Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching, including staff development on innovative approaches to support teaching development. My role ensures that CDoTL meets academic requirements in advising on strategic priorities for the development of Teaching and Learning through the use of Technology. More specifically:
I work with academic Schools and academic staff, CDoTL team members and other support services staff to create an infrastructure of resources that support the development of courses through the use of Learning Technology.
I promote the use of learning technologies by planning and promoting university-wide workshops. I lead staff development and training sessions to ensure that academics are able to utilise learning technologies appropriately and effectively.
I develop, as appropriate, university-wide participation and support for the engagement of academic and support staff with Technology Enhanced Learning.
I manage the University's Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard) and other e-learning tools
I manage and direct the work of a small team of Enhancement Officers (e-Learning), as well as project staff and facilitate the development of cross-team working in CDoTL.
I identify opportunities for development and innovation, including accessing external funding sources, and support the writing of bids for funding.
I contribute to CDoTL's strategic planning as a member of the CDOTL Senior Management Staff Team.
I manage projects related to the enhancement of T&L (internally or externally funded).
My project management experience includes the management of the HEA/JISC funded e-Benchmarking and Pathfinder Projects, and the continuous management of the VLE. My current projects include the Blackboard Upgrade, the TLDF- funded Staff development Online, the JISC- funded DEVELOP project, the JISC-funded Curriculum Design OULDI project, and the development of online resources for technology-enhanced learning.

My main interests include staff development, the effective and innovative application of technology to develop teaching and learning, curriculum design, Quality Enhancement and Quality Assurance, Innovation and Change.
I am a member of various sector-wide external communities and groups including the Heads of e-Learning Forum, JISC e-Pedagogy Experts, HEA -funded QA-QE SIG (with a role of deputy Chair), the Association of Learning Technology, Blackboard User Groups.
