Personal Tutorial System

Being a Personal Tutor is a crucial aspect to the role of most academic members of staff here at Female student 2Reading. It is recognised that the duties and responsibilities which come with being a Personal Tutor can be time consuming, emotionally draining and can at times lead to you needing support from the University. This support can come in various forms:

Central communication for Personal Tutors is usually sent around to Senior Tutors via a mailing list. Senior Tutors are then expected to disseminate to Personal Tutors.

Personal Tutoring for taught postgraduates

Most Schools advise taught postgraduates that their Programme Director will act as a Personal Tutor although some Schools do allocate Personal Tutors to taught postgraduates in a similar manner to the way they allocate to undergraduates.

Each School should make their own position clear to taught postgraduates. If you would like any advice, please contact Sarah Morey (s.morey@reading.ac.uk).
