Supporting Enhancement

CDoTL supports the University's Learning and Teaching Enhancement Priorities by working at the individual, School/Department and discipline-specific levels. The Centre achieves this through a number of activities and initiatives including co-ordination of T&L funding, Rewards and Recognition leading a wide range of staff development sessions in collaboration with the Centre for Staff Training and Development (CSTD), dissemination of T&L practices, for example, through CDoTL's publication 'Publications' and tailored School-level support to enhance T&L practices, for example, through Assessment and Feedback 'engagements'  and through the work of the Pathfinder team.

Teaching and Learning Resources

The Centre has a wide range of experience and expertise in teaching enhancement and has developed a suite of resources that staff can use, both online and in hard copy. For example these include a suite of new online resources for T&L in the new version of Blackboard and the Engage in Feedback website. In addition the Centre runs both generic and tailored staff development sessions on a range of teaching enhancement areas, such as deterring plagiarism, diversifying assessment methods, using technologies to support teaching and supporting work placements.

Teaching and Learning Communities

CDoTL co-ordinates the termly meetings of the Senior Tutors, School Directors of Teaching and Learning (SDTLs) and School e-Learning Co-ordinators (SeLCs). These meetings provide opportunities for colleagues to share experiences and ideas spanning a wide range of topics. Recent meetings have focussed on employability, work placements, personal development planning, enquiry-based learning and digital identity.
