Vacation Residence

Accommodation is available in some of the Halls of Residence for students and other visitors during the summer vacation.

Vacation Residence bookings are for individual and small group bookings only. For groups of eight or more please contact the Conference Office by email: c.bookings@reading.ac.uk or telephone: 0118 378 8427 or see Conference Services for more information.

Availability

The availability of summer vacation accommodation varies according to the Hall and the dates required. Please contact the Hall you would like to stay at to check the availability.

Reservations

The minimum booking period is four days. All reservations should be made directly with the Hall concerned. Complete the Vacation Residence Booking Form (Word-78KB) and return it to the Hall.

Charges

The charges vary according to the room type and also your student status. Please note, proof of student status will be required. The charges are listed on each Hall page. All charges are payable in advance and are non-refundable. When VAT is applicable this is charged for first 28 days of a continuous stay .

Bed Linen

Bedding can be provided or guests may prefer to bring their own. If the booking is for up to six nights then bed linen can be hired for a charge of £10. If the booking is for over six nights then you can purchase a single bedding pack for £20 or a double bedding pack for £30 (for use in Mackinder Hall due to the larger size beds in this Hall).

No Smoking

All of Halls are strictly non-smoking and this includes the communal areas and the study bedrooms.
