If you're enrolled fully (which includes having paid your fees), and you have activated your University username and password, you should use that to log in.
Your University username will be either two random letters followed by the last six digits of your student number (eg dq123456) or, if your username was created before 2007, then it will be three letters, the year of creation and your initials (eg ecu05abc).
The second screen of the RISISweb portal asks for your RISIS security password. We ask you to have a second password here to protect your data: you may be familiar with a similar system in online banking. Many students have their bank details as well as their personal details visible on their web portal. You have a space on the Security Password screen, to the right of the password box, where your own reminder text appears: when you set up a password and password reminder, do make good use of that area.
If you can't log in and can't get your email either, and you have only recently enrolled, please try logging in with your student number and date of birth: it may be that you haven't yet activated your username. But if you have definitely activated your username, and have forgotten the password that goes with it, you can reset it at https://password.reading.ac.uk/reset/.
If you were a student here and have now finished your course, you will be able to log in with your username and password for a few weeks, but will then revert to logging in with your student number and date of birth.
If you haven't forgotten your University username and password, and still can't log into the RISISweb portal, please email us from your University email address. See the link on the right to email us.
