How to access the RISIS database

Most staff members access RISIS over the web. However some staff with more specialist roles, such as admissions also have access to RISIS via their desktop, known as 'client server access'; this access is enabled only after attending one of our training sessions.

If you would like to attend the How to use RISIS: for absolute beginners training course, please use the link on the right to book onto one of the courses.

Once you have attended the beginners course you will need to contact risis@reading.ac.uk giving your username along with the hostname and IP address of your PC. To find your hostname and IP address goto: start>accessories>command prompt> and then type in "IPCONFIG/ALL"

A member of the RISIS office will then contact you to inform you once you are through the firewall. You will then need to map to the S drive.
