Ms Carole Boudeau
I joined HaCIRIC in July 2010 and am involved in a project that examines interactions between the construction sector and healthcare clients. The central aim is to identify how, in actual situations of planning and design, construction and healthcare stakeholders collaboratively devise buildings which are relevant to healthcare activities. This project is interested in issues such as 'fit for purpose' healthcare buildings, the translation of clients' needs into requirements and the materialisation of medical knowledge into the built environment. It addresses them as they manifest themselves and are constituted in actual, situated practices.
Previously, I worked as a research fellow in the department of sociology at Warwick University whilst also completing my PhD from Brunel University in 2009, also in sociology. Whilst I have researched a number of topics, the main thread of my research is an interest in the situated organisation of social activities.
