Dr Llewellyn Tang
Llewellyn has researched in the decision science field since he obtained a BSc degree with First Class Honors in Construction Engineering and Management from the City University of Hong Kong in 2002. He completed his PhD in Knowledge and Innovation Management in Construction in 2005 at City University of Hong Kong. While completing his doctoral studies, he was a Lecturer (P/T), Teaching Assistant, and Research Assistant in a number of research (CERG and SRG) and consultancy projects at City University. His main research interests are artificial intelligence, computational decision support, education in construction, information processing, information and knowledge management, and operational research.
Before joining the School of Construction Management and Engineering in October 2008, Dr. Llewellyn Tang was involved in the £3.8M EPSRC and ESRC funded multi-university Knowledge and Information Management Through-Life Grand Challenge project. He mainly worked on Task 2.3 Value of Information with Professor Simon Austin at Loughborough University. He is currently a Reviewer for a number of top-ranked journals including Automation in Construction, Construction Management and Economics, Support System and European Journal of Operational Research. From 2000 to 2004 Llewellyn also served as Committee Member and Student Representative of the Building Division Committee of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).
He has obtained a number of awards, fellowships, studentships and scholarships for his outstanding academic achievements from a number of prestigious institutions, including Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council (SEYMFC), Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Structural Division/IStructE (HK Division), The Australian Institute of Building (AIB), The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB Hong Kong), Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies CityU HK, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering CityU HK.
