Bill Collinge, PhD student
Stakeholder engagement in healthcare infrastructure provision
What is your research about?
My research is investigating how the needs and requirements of various stakeholders associated with hospital & medical facility construction projects are gathered, assimilated and used by construction professionals (i.e. designers, architects, builders) so that a final building is produced suited to purpose. The PhD aims to apply semiotic-based theories (sign generation, understanding and utilization) to the hospital construction project context and will research different aspects of the construction project process (briefing & requirements capture, stakeholder management, communications systems, technology design). The PhD aims to assist in forming a better understanding of the hospital construction project processes and mechanisms currently evident in the UK.
