Integration of sustainable technologies within the digital design process on large building programmes: lessons from the UK Building Schools for the Future
What is your research about?
To conduct research on sustainable digital design practices in large building project programmes; specifically, research which involves the study of organisational responses to the challenges of sustainability in the construction field.
In my current stage of the doctoral programme, I am interested in exploring how organizational processes and discourses are being reconfigured to respond to sustainability issues. Particularly, the complexity of organizational responses to climate change in the construction sector.
I have worked as a qualified architect for almost 10 years in the UK and abroad and have built a comprehensive portfolio of projects, experiences and insights in the construction field. My earlier research focused on the methodologies applied in the shaping of environmental impact assessment models for building materials.

Why did you choose the University of Reading for your PhD?
I was initially inspired by the work the Design Innovation research Centre (DIRC) is pursuing; the themes that are being explored are closely linked to my own interests and experiences of construction practices. My time to date has been thought-provoking, challenging and rewarding.
