Postgraduate taught courses
History is one of the University's most-studied arts subjects. Given the wide interests of the staff within the Department and our close links with other Arts and Humanities Departments, we are able to offer a wide variety of taught postgraduate courses, many of which are interdisciplinary. Our areas of particular expertise are British, European, American and Rural history.
There are many opportunities for those who wish to undertake Masters level study in History. We offer 4 postgraduate courses:
- MA (Res)Modern History
- MA (Res) Medieval Studies with the Graduate Centre for Medieval Studies
- MA(Res) Early Modern History
All of our Masters' programmes offer research training and specialist supervision in the student's chosen dissertation topic, making them ideal pathways to doctoral research.
