Students on steps at PalmerA range of financial support options for doctoral research students is available at the University with around 150 entry awards across all subjects open to outstanding PhD candidates over the year. The table below includes information on all PhD studentships currently being advertised (follow links for detailed information including full criteria and how to apply). It also includes some annual competitions which will reopen next academic year. Please visit this page regularly as new opportunities are added on a regular basis.

Other sources of funding for research students

For information on smaller sources of funding advertised by the University (including the University's Hardship Fund and disability support fund) please use the University's funding search. Many Schools and Departments also offer funding at different times of year; these may be listed in postgraduate research areas page.
