Fees for new postgraduate researchers

The following fees apply if you are starting the first year of your postgraduate research programme in the academic year 2021/22 or 2022/23.

EU student fees

With effect from 1 August 2021, new EU students will pay international tuition fees. For exceptions, please read the Guidance from the UK Government

#Fixed for three years (i.e. international applicants who start a full-time programme during 2021/22 will pay the same annual rate for each of the first three years of their programme).

 +Fixed for four years (i.e. international applicants who start a part-time programme during 2021/22 will pay the same annual rate for each of the first four years of their programme).

Research expenses - For some postgraduate research programmes, particularly in the sciences, you will be charged a supplementary fee to cover the costs of additional facilities and consumables. This is normally charged on an annual basis and will be detailed in your Offer of Admission letter.

Visiting postgraduate researchers

The following fees are for a 12-month period of study. For shorter periods, the fee will be a pro-rata amount, based on the number of months you are at Reading.
