Graduate School Research Images Competition

In 2012, the Graduate School ran its inaugural Research Images Competition.

The aim of this contest was to invite current doctoral students to submit images that would inform, engage and intrigue a non-specialist / lay audience and offer a visual perspective on current postgraduate research. In short, we were inviting our students to 'show off' their research.

An exhibition of shortlisted entries was subsequently displayed in the University Library foyer and on Wednesday 16 May 2012, we announced the prize winners, who were as follows:

  • First Prize (£200) - Chris Ugbode, School of Pharmacy
  • Runner-up Prize (£75) - Titus Nemeth, Dept. of Typography & Graphic Communication
  • People's Choice Prize (£75) - Karolina Fieber, School of Systems Engineering

The Graduate School would also like to thank everyone who made a submission to the competition. Anyone wishing to view the images shortlisted for display can visit the Common Room (G06) of Old Whiteknights House, where these images are mounted on the walls.

All 30 entries to the competition are available to view via the Graduate School's Flickr photostream:
