Key Facts

Liz Shaw joined the department in 2006. Previous to this she gained her PhD at the University of Kent and then worked as a post-doctoral scientist on the following projects:

  • Bioluminescence-based bacterial sensing of the bioavailability of chlorophenols in soil - Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (Monks Wood)
  • Mechanisms of enhanced biodegradation of xenobiotics in the rhizosphere - University of Kent
  • Contribution of nitrifier denitrification to nitrous oxide emissions from soil - Imperial College
  • Microbial interactions in the mycorrhizosphere - Manchester Metropolitan University

Liz is currently Subject Editor for the journal Soil Biology and Biochemistry and a member of the NERC peer review college.
