Style & Meaning: Textual Analysis - Interpretation - Mise-en-scene (March 2000)

styleandmeaningStyle and Meaning was an international film conference, held in the Department in 2000 to explore the role of detailed textual analysis in contemporary film studies. There were keynote addresses by Laura Mulvey, V.F. Perkins and George M. Wilson and over 100 delegates from many different countries attended three days of workshops and panels. A volume of essays based on the conference and edited by John Gibbs and Douglas Pye was published by Manchester University press in 2005.
