British TV Drama and US Imports: the Transnational Viewing Experience (September 2007)

British TV Drama and US Imports Symposium Poster 2007This was the second in a series of events of the AHRC-funded project British TV Drama and Acquired US Programmes (1970-2000). It focused on questions of how viewers come to see foreign dramas on their national screens, how this might have changed over the years and what meanings viewers might take from non-indigenous drama. Panels investigated what broadcasters do with foreign drama and how national contexts frame foreign drama to create nation-specific meanings.
