ENFORCEMENT - Report to the European Commission on Progress in 2013 towards Implementation of the UK Multi-Annual National Control Plan

The 2013 annual report on progress towards implementation of the UK Multi-Annual National Control Plan 2013 - 2015 (MANCP) has now been published.

The report has been prepared jointly by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and its agencies, the Department of Health (DH), the Health and Safety Executive’s Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD), Scottish Government Agriculture, Food and Rural Communities (SG AFRC), the Welsh Government Sustainable Futures (WG SF) and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (Northern Ireland) (DARD) and satisfies a requirement of Regulation (EC) No 882/2004.

The report informs the European Commission of progress in achieving the objectives of the UK MANCP. It summarises the results of official controls and associated activities undertaken by the competent authorities and associated bodies and outlines the findings of performance audits.

The report will be used by the Commission in planning audits of UK official controls and, together with similar reports from the other Member States, will contribute to a report by the Commission to the Council and European Parliament on the overall operation of official controls across the European Community.

A copy of the annual report is available on this site. See: 2013 UK Annual Report: Progress towards implementation of the Multi-Annual National Control Plan for the United Kingdom
