The Agency has published the fourth annual report on progress during 2010 in implementing the UK's National Control Plan (NCP) for January 2007 to March 2012.

The report has been prepared jointly by the Agency, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and its agencies, the Scottish Government’s Rural and Environment Directorate, the Welsh Assembly Government’s Department for Rural Affairs, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for Northern Ireland and the Chemicals Regulation Directorate of the Health and Safety Executive, and satisfies a requirement of Regulation (EC) No 882/2004.

The report informs the European Commission on progress in achieving the objectives of the UK NCP, summarises the results of official controls and associated activities undertaken by the competent authorities and associated bodies, and outlines the findings of performance audits.

The report will be used by the Food and Veterinary Office in planning audits of UK control arrangements and, together with reports prepared by other member states, will contribute to a report from the Commission to the Council and European Parliament on the overall operation of official controls across the European Community.
