OFFICIAL CONTROL - Revised National Control Plan published

The Agency and the four agriculture/rural affairs departments in the UK have recently reviewed the UK's National Control Plan for the period January 2007 to March 2011, and a revised version has been published.

The purpose of the plan, which is a requirement of EU Regulation 882/2004 on official controls, is to ensure that effective control systems are in place for monitoring and enforcing feed and food law, animal health and animal welfare rules, and plant health law.

Regulation 882/2004 requires that plans be kept under review and revised regularly. The third review of the UK plan has recently been completed. No substantive amendments have been made as a result, but the plan has been updated to reflect organisational and legislative changes.

A copy of the revised plan is available on this site. See: National Control Plan - Revision 3
