CONTAMINANTS - Consultation on draft Contaminants in Food (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2004

Comments are invited on draft regulations: The Contaminants in Food (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2004. The Regulations are intended to apply to England only. Responses are requested by: 6 December 2004

Consultation details

Maximum levels for aflatoxins B1 and M1, ochratoxin A and nitrate in foods for infants and young children.
Corresponding Regulations will apply in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Agency's offices in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are carrying out similar consultation exercises. The Regulations will amend The draft Contaminants in Food Regulations 2004 by:

Comments are requested from enforcement authorities, industry, including businesses, and from other organisations in relation to the costs and benefits and other impacts of the Commission Regulations and Directive on their activities.
