UK Beef Export Ban Lifted
The Commission yesterday lifted the beef export ban when it formally endorsed the UK's Date-Based Export Scheme. This followed a 10–1 vote in favour of the decision at the Agriculture Council on Monday. As soon as the UK government tells it that exports are ready to restart, the Commission will carry out an inspection and inform the Standing Veterinary Committee. If the results are satisfactory, then the Commission will set a date for exports to resume.
