FLAVORUINGS / CONTAMINANTS - Flavouring - Non dioxin-like PCBs: Council discussions
The following is an extract from the minutes of the Competitiveness (Internal Market, Industry, Research and Space) Council meeting held on 2 and 3 March 2015
The Council decided not to oppose the adoption of the two following Commission regulations:
- a regulation amending annex I to regulation 1334/2008 removing N-Ethyl (2E,6Z)-nonadienamide from the EU list of flavouring substances (5218/15),
- a regulation amending regulation 1881/2006 increasing the current maximum level of non dioxin-like PCBs in wild caught spiny dogfish to put it on a level as low as reasonably achievable (5366/15).
The Commission regulations are subject to the so called regulatory procedure with scrutiny. This means that now that the Council has given its consent, the Commission may adopt them, unless the European Parliament objects.
