At the 12 June meeting of the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health, the Commission presented a new version of a draft Regulation setting the rules for authorisations of generic descriptors (see link below).
A large part of the discussion was devoted to considering the length of time that a term would need to have been on the market before it could be considered for authorisation of a generic descriptor (Section B, paragraph 1.5) and the information / evidence that applicants might be required to supply in an application (Section B, paragraph 2). I would be grateful for your comments on these and other elements of the document by Monday 1 July
