Council Minutes, 31 May 2012
The following is an extract from the minutes of the Competitiveness (Internal Market, Industry, Research and Space) Council meeting held on 30-31 May 2012:
The Council decided not to oppose the adoption of a Commission regulation introducing certain amendments to the maximum levels of ochratoxin A, non dioxin-like PCBs and melamine in foodstuffs.
The Commission regulation is subject to what is termed the regulatory procedure with scrutiny. This means that now that the Council has given its consent, the Commission may adopt the regulation, unless the European Parliament objects.
