FOOD ADDITIVES - Council considers updated specifications of purity

The following is an extract from the minutes of the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council meeting

The Council decided not to oppose the adoption of a Commission regulation laying down specifications for food additives listed in annexes II and III to regulation 1333/2008. The Commission regulation is subject to the so called regulatory procedure with scrutiny. This means that now that the Council has given its consent, the Commission may adopt it, unless the European Parliament objects.
