I enclose the latest working documents from the Commission with the proposed EU Nutrient Profile model as required by Article 4 of the nutrition and health claims Regulation 1924/2006. We are circulating these now to enable you the maximum amount of time to look at the proposed structure of the nutrient profile, and in particular the figures used for defining categories, threshold levels and the effect of these on the limited food basket.
f you wish to comment on these documents and have an input in the establishment of the nutrient profile, we will be conducting a formal consultation in the next week or so, but please note we will not be able to allow a full 12 weeks for consultation because of the European Commission's timetable.
