LABELLING - Definition of Meat for Labelling Purposes

Opinion on a Draft Commission Directive amending Annex I to Directive 2000/13/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the labelling, presentation and advertising of foodstuffs.

The draft Commission Directive relating to the definition of the term "meat" for labelling, was the subject of a favourable opinion of the Standing Committee on Foodstuffs on 19 July 2001 : twelve Member States voted in favour, two Member States abstained and a Member State voted against.
