Reporting for the Environment Committee after a lengthy consultation procedure, Paul LANNOYE (Greens/EFA, B) is now prepared to endorse a Commission internal market proposal dating back to 1995 and designed to regulate the use of sugar in foodstuffs, with just one amendment. The legislation affects colouring agents, additives and labelling. The amendment seeks to include brown sugar in the legislation.
Amendments are also proposed to the controls on the other products.
