Graduation and prize giving
Upon graduation many of our students choose to leave the academic environment and venture out into a role within the food Industry. Having a food degree from Reading is highly regarded by industry and often enough to secure an interview for an appropriate job role. Our students' feel that what gives them the extra edge is the emphasis we place on transferable skills such as career development and project work. By developing these skills alongside core knowledge of the subject our students are in a stronger position with greater chance of their dream job.
Graduation is a very special day and along with the formal graduation ceremony in the University's Great Hall, the Department also welcomes our graduates and their families and friends to join us in a reception as a final farewell. We also take this opportunity to award our very best students with prizes in recognition of their individual achievements whilst in the Department.
