Continued support

There are various routes for our current undergraduate students to obtain financial help with their studies. You may like to consider the following:

Sainsbury's

As a major employer of suitably qualified food scientists and technologists, Sainsbury's has established a commitment to provide financial support to suitable students.

The scheme rewards performance in the first year examinations and provides additional support for those selected for industrial training with the company. Students who are accepted onto a 12-month training placement (taken between the second and third year at university) will be eligible for significant financial support. This support will continue if the placement itself is successful.

Ultimately, the package links to a special scheme for new graduates which will enable three new graduates to join a 'Taste the World' scheme with financial benefits and opportunities for international travel.

Further details are available about Sainsbury's Taste the World scheme; alternatively current students can contact Glynis Jodrell for more information.

Kerry Foods

Kerry Foods is offering £1100, and a 6 or 12 month placement to a second year student undertaking industrial training in their third year. Selection is by interview and a presentation during the Autumn Term of the second year. A successful placement will lead to the same sponsorship for the final year and also an offer of a place on their Graduates Scheme.

Current students can obtain further details from Glynis Jodrell.

Dairygold Food Ingredients

Dairygold Food Ingredients is offering to sponsor a student 1000 Euros in the final year of any of our BSc courses if they had a successful placement with the company.

The company has also agreed to provide prizes to the BSc Nutrition and Food Science course as follows:
