Getting the right balance between work and play is vital and this extends to your degree choice too. We understand this at the department and that is why we have carefully tailored our degrees to combine the perfect mix of scientific skills and learning with real world application. For this reason our graduates are highly regarded by the industry and in many cases employers within the food industry actively seek Reading food graduates.

The department has repeatedly been rated 'excellent' for its teaching quality, learning resources and student support and guidance measures have received full marks. We offer five undergraduate BSc degree programmes, each has been designed to compliment your skills and strengths as an individual and allow you to specialise in a way that is right for you. All are available either with or without an Industrial Training Placement as three or four year degree programmes. Please refer to the current entry requirements for more information: Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Courses at Food Biosciences Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Courses at Food & Nutritional Sciences

Are you considering applying for one of our degrees? We provide students in Year 12 an opportunity to come and find out more about the subject at a free intensive 3 day Summer School. For more details see our Sixth Form Summer Course page.
