EPSRC EQUAL Research Network Workshop 21st January 2004

Quality Research with Older and Disabled People: Theoretical, Practical and Ethical Issues
Hosted by Middlesex University

A workshop organised by Middlesex University in conjunction with the EPSRC funded EQUAL Research Network to support Extending Quality Life of Older People and Disabled People.

The focus of the workshop will be the methodologies of research appropriate to working with older and disabled people. It will aim to enable participants to discuss practical, theoretical and ethical issues of carrying out research with older and disabled people. It will be based on a number of presentations as well as separate workshop sessions to discuss specific issues in more detail. The workshops will be of particular interest to those who are new to undertaking research with older and disabled people and for experienced researchers who wish to extend their knowledge and compare their experiences with those of others. Although the focus will be on methodological issues it is not intended that the workshop should be limited solely to researchers. Indeed professional, practitioners and older people and disabled people would be particularly welcome but please note that the focus will be on how to undertake research not on presenting findings from research.

Venue: Mansion House, Middlesex University Trent Park Campus www.mdx.ac.uk/campus/tp.htm
