How you'll learn

Students studying in the libraryWe operate a varied and interactive teaching approach for our English Language courses. Teaching is delivered in modules that involve lectures, seminars and (in some modules) workshops. Seminars will often involve oral presentation by students, and workshops will include training and practice in the description and analysis of texts and transcripts. Modules are assessed by a mixture of coursework and formal examination, with the proportion of coursework increasing as the degree progresses. The final-year dissertation comprises a piece of independent research, directed through a series of one-to-one tutorials, and assessed entirely by coursework.
