Early Modern Studies Conference
The Reading Early Modern Studies Conference is a biennial event, which was held annually in 2008-2015, and continues a long tradition of interdisciplinary conferences that began over twenty-five years ago in 1989. This international event brings together early modern scholars from around the world working in the fields of literature, history, art history, politics, modern languages and philosophy, and papers address topics that extend across early modern Britain, Europe and the wider world.

This year's conference will focus on the theme of 'Complaints and Grievances, 1500-1750', with particular strands on literary, medical, and political and religious complaints. The provisional programme is now available:
