Post ITT Subject Knowledge Enhancement
We been given an excellent opportunity to pilot a new Subject Knowledge Enhancement Course for existing and returning teachers.
The course provides the opportunity for qualified teachers to expand into teaching another subject, or to improve their subject knowledge in a subject they may already be teaching.
What subjects are available?
The programme is available in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for the course you must have qualified teacher status (QTS) in a subject other than those listed above. If you are currently working in school you must have the backing of your school also.
What is involved?
The programme starts on Saturday 1 October 2011 with an induction day followed by a combination of one evening per week and distance learning for the next 6 months. At the end of the programme teachers will feel more confident in there ability to teach their chosen subject to GCSE and will have a transcript recognised by the University of Reading and the TDA to show completion of the course.
What is the cost?
The course is fully funded by the TDA for eligible candidates and their schools.
