Applications and enquiries

The University of Reading GTP is open for applications for September 2012.

Applications can only be made via the TA application portal with required supplementary information being sent by post to the University of Reading.

Guidelines on how to apply and forms for the required supplementary information are available below.

Applications update: 18th April 2012

Primary:

The University of Reading has now received sufficient applications for Primary to complete its allocation of funded places. However, for the time being it will continue to accept applications for Primary to provide a short waiting list.

Secondary:

The University of Reading is still accepting GTP applications for September 2012 for Secondary Mathematics and Secondary Physics.
The University of Reading has now received sufficient applications for Modern Foreign Languages and Chemistry to complete its allocation of funded places. However, for the time being it will continue to accept applications for these subjects to provide a short waiting list.
The University of Reading GTP is now closed for funded places for Art & Design, Biology, Design & Technology, Drama, English, History, ICT, Music, PE. No more applications for these subjects will be considered.

The University of Reading will continue to consider applications for 'self-funded' places. A self-funded place is one where the school takes responsibility for paying the salary of the trainee on the unqualified teacher scale. The school will also be invoiced for the training fees (see 'Information for Schools' document).

School Direct:

The University of Reading is working with King Alfred's, Wantage, to offer 'School Direct' in Primary and in the following Secondary subjects: Maths, English, Physics and/or Chemistry, Drama, PE.
