The Institute of Education welcomes a wide range of schools into partnership.
PGCE Secondary
The University of Reading works in partnership with approximately 35 schools each year to provide secondary initial teacher training.
This partnership involves schools and the university working together to plan and deliver the secondary PGCE course as part of which students spend the equivalent of 24 weeks on placements in partnership schools.
PGCert/Dip and MA Modular programmes
The Institute of Education works closely with local schools to provide quality courses leading to qualifications that are increasingly important for career development. These courses are supported by the Training Development Agency (TDA)
Our School-Based Research programme is a new innovation. We provide support for groups of teachers and schools to research questions relevant to their setting.The research projects are designed to raise standards and performance to build local capacity for evidence based teaching.
