The Institute of Education at the University of Reading is moving in 2011 to the historic London Road campus. After nearly 20 years of celebrating success at Bulmershe Court, the Institute is taking part in this iconic move with an investment of £21 million to transform the prestigious London Road campus into a purpose built but grand place exclusively refurbished to continue our long lasting tradition of delivering exceptional programmes of study in the field of Education.
London Road in central Reading is one of three campuses at the University of Reading and was gifted in 1904 by the local Palmer family, of the famous biscuit manufacturer Huntley & Palmers. Their continued support helped to fund expansion, including the opening of Wantage Hall in 1908 and The Research Institute in Dairying in 1912. London Road also houses the splendid Great Hall where thousands of our students attend their Graduation ceremonies. The hall also plays host to a number to performances such as those by national choirs and orchestras. With our expertise in Music and Drama, we hope to continue this tradition.

**NOTE***Institute of Education move to London Road delayed****
The University regrets to announce that the Institute of Education's move to its new home on the London Road campus has been delayed until December and that it will be now be operational from the start of the Spring Term, in January 2012. In the meantime, all programmes will operate as usual on our Bulmershe Court Campus from September to December 2011.
While we realise that this news will be disappointing, we will ensure that the student experience remains unaffected by this change of circumstances. The facilities at the Bulmershe campus are excellent and are much valued by our current students.
For students who have arranged for accommodation to be close to the new Campus on London Road, they can be issued with a parking permit that lasts until December 2011 at a reduced rate should they wish to use a car to get to the Bulmershe Court Campus. For those wishing to use public transport please follow the link to find your way to the campus http://www.reading.ac.uk/education/about/ioe-gettinghere.aspx
We are trying very hard to make your experience nothing short of excellent and also to ensure a smooth transition to the new site.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries you might have in the meantime, either through your programme administrators or directly by emailing us at ioe@reading.ac.uk.
