Entry requirements
Are you eligible?
All candidates must meet the entry requirements for funded and self funded places. Funded places are limited and once these have been allocated only self funded places can be offered.
All applicants are subject to an enhanced CRB disclosure check. CWDC state that candidates on all Pathways must have an enhanced CRB completed by the training provider at the candidates own expense.
All candidates will attend an interview and undertake a written English and maths test.Proof of all qualifications will need to be presented at interview.
All candidates on CWDC funded Practitioner Pathways must have the right to work and study in the UK for at least the duration of the Pathway.
All candidates must meet the general entry requirements to access funded places. This is subject to e-CRB and interview. Candidates on the Practitioner Pathways must also meet the additional requirements. Candidates on the Practitioner Pathways who do not meet the additional requirements will be able to apply for self funded places.
General Entry Requirements
- Degree (at least 300 credits in any subject, 60 at Level 6) or an Foundation Degree in Early Years (Undergraduate Practitioner Pathway)
- All overseas qualifications must be accompanied by proof of Naric equivalence.
- GCSE Grade C or above English Language (English studied as a foreign language is not equivalent).
- GCSE Grade C or above Maths
- Be able to demonstrate that you are able to read effectively and communicate clearly and accurately in English to a standard equivalent to Level C1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ( hyperlinked) http://www.coe.int/t/DG4/Portfolio/?L=E&M=/main_pages/levels.html
In addition to the above candidates wishing to undertake the Undergraduate Practitioner Pathway or the Graduate Practitioner Pathway through a funded place must meet these additional requirements.
- Must be working in a setting that delivers the Early Years Foundation Stage. Eligible settings are:
- Any setting on the Early Years Register
- Nursery Schools
- Independent Schools
- Maintained Schools
Are you working in one of the above settings but don't have a degree but do have a level 3 qualification?
Have you considered undertaking a Foundation Degree in order for you to be able to become and Early Years Professional?
