The Centre runs a regular internal seminar series in conjunction with the School of Real Estate (organised by Vivien Burrows) at which staff and PhD students present the results of their research, generally at an early stage of development.

The Centre also organises workshops, based around our core research themes, with external as well as internal participants.

ICHUE hosted a half-day workshop at the University of Reading on 'Skills and Skilful Policy?' bringing together researchers, practitioners and local government officials for debate on international migration's role in and impact on local labour markets and communities. An introductory update on teh UK's refugee relocation policy was given by Mr Roy Millard, partnership manager for the South East Strategic Partnership for Migration.

ICHUE hosted a one-day workshop at the University of Reading, on the role of housing in the UK economy and how housing policy can help drive the economic recovery, which brought together academics and policymakers working in the field. Speakers included Geoff Meen (Reading), Christine Whitehead (LSE), Chris Walker (DCLG), Joe Sarling (Shelter), Ken Gibb (Glasgow), Glen Bramley (Heriot-Watt), Rosen Chowdhury (St Andrews) and Becky Tunstall (York).
