MSc Economic Development in Emerging Markets
MSc Economic Development in Emerging Markets is a postgraduate masters course, in the Dept of Economics.
It combines theory and practice to provide you with a strong grounding in the subject. MSc Economic Development in Emerging Markets encourages you to analyse the strategic behaviour of organisations, governments and consumers in emerging economies. You will focus, in particular, on recent developments in the emerging and transition economies in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Course structure
Within MSc Economic Development in Emerging Markets you will complete a mix of core and optional modules, allowing you to tailor the programme towards your own interests.

To be eligible to take the dissertation, you must complete at least 100 credits of taught modules in the autumn term, and achieve an average coursework mark of at least 60% in that term.
Optional modules
In addition you are invited to select up to 60 credits of optional modules. These include, but are not limited to, areas including banking and finance, economic development, econometrics, international business, globalisation, emerging markets and strategy.
Assessment
MSc Economic Development in Emerging Markets students will be assessed through written examinations, a dissertation or project, assignments, case studies and group presentations.
Entry requirements
You are expected to have obtained a UK upper second class honours degree, or the international equivalent, which includes a good understanding of core Economics and quantitative methods at an undergraduate level.
