Professional roles and interactions in BIM-enabled projects.
PhD Research, October 2010-September 2013
This research studies the practices of BIM-enabled design to understand new forms of professional work.
Research Objectives
- To examine how BIM technologies change the architect's ways of working and interactions with other construction professionals
- To conduct an international comparison between the UK/USA
- To highlight examples of lessons learnt, emerging leading practice and theory recommendations in using BIM
Research Method
A qualitative research approach will be employed using observations and semi-structured interviews for collecting data.
Expected Outcomes
- New theory building on the literature of professions and technology in the work place
- Recommendations on new management practices, approaches and styles of working and processes using BIM
- Thesis and publications
