Responsibilities:

To lead and advise on the strategic development of technology enhanced learning (TEL) at the University, including working collaboratively with Schools in developing their use of TEL and identifying requirements and new initiatives to enable TEL. I also lead the TEL team who have wide range of expertise including: learning technologies; online learning; MOOCs; educational design; professional development; application management.

Background:
My career in TEL began in 1992 at the University of Kent, developing hypermedia and introducing staff to the innovation that was the WWW.  Most recently I led the direction and development of TEL at the University of Surrey.  I have worked on a wide variety of initiatives to support teaching, learning and assessment including: introducing technologies such as VLEs, virtual classrooms and e-voting; designing programmes of professional development to support academic practice in TEL; working with Faculties in the development of blended and distance learning and e-assessment;  teaching on several PG Certs.
